Tiny Homes, Tiny Houses, Micro Dwellings… however you label them, seem to strike a chord with the child in all of us. I think we have all had aspirations of tiny-living at some point in our lives whether it a sofa cushion castle, bedsheet teepee, or tree house fort as a child.
During the Aug 7-9, 2015 weekend, I was able to attend the FIRST OFFICIAL intergalactic (well maybe international… maybe just national) Tiny House Jamboree in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
I had been following the tiny house movement for years. I suppose I should have made the connection between the growing availability of tiny house info and its popularity, but for whatever reason I did not. You could imagine my surprise when I arrived at the event venue and found a packed parking lot.
I was fortunate to meet many of my favorite tiny house celebs from various blogs & vlogs, listen to a few talks, and even have some of my tiny questions answered by industry experts. I stayed for several hours longer than I anticipated, partly to let the crowds die down so I could explore the many display tiny house models on site. Nevertheless, the crowds and lines kept getting larger. The tiny house movement is huge! The neatest thing… I think I made contacts with folks that I feel will become lifelong friends!
Why am I sharing this today? I was so excited and had so much fun at the jamboree that I just HAD to tell someone!
What event or activity has recently excited you so much that you just had to tell someone? What event would you imagine would excite you that much… and what is keeping you from attending?
