An optimist falls off a 10-story building. As he passes the sixth story, someone yells from the window, “How’s it going?” The man yells back, “So Far, So Good!” Last night I made a MeetUp group… I named it So Far, So Good. The group will be, umm… wine-based, for the most part. I’ve been in other wine and hiking MeetUp groups in the past, but it was just too difficult to get to events I wanted to attend due to my schedule. What better way to make events then to schedule the events? I’d like the MeetUp to do wine, beer, and whiskey tastings, coffee cuppings, breakfasts, brunches, lunches, and dinners.
I made the group for a few reasons; one of the reasons was because I didn’t have a lot of civilian friends and I was six months from retirement. So, I decided to fix that. Whether or not I make a lot of friends through the Meetup isn’t the point. I make friends easy enough, but if the group can help others make friends then it’s good thing.
Anyway… when someone asks you “how’s it going?” Remember… So Far, So Good.
What about you… are you in a MeetUp group? What type of activities does the group do?
